General Iftaa` Department Wins King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency

The General Iftaa` Department won King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency (First position), as first-time participant, on Wednesday, fifth of Sept. 2018.

Dr Mufti Mohammad Al-Zou`bihas also won the King`s Award for theLeading Employee Category. 

Winners for the cycle 2017/2018 were announced during the ceremony heldunder the patronage of His majesty King Abdullah IIat the Royal Cultural Centre.

The Grand Mufti, Dr Mohammad Al-Khalayleh said that the Award came because of the tremendous effortsmade by the Muftis and other staff members. He added that it manifests the spirit of teamwork, which is encouraged by Sharia.

On its part, the Iftaa` Dept. has exerted ceaseless efforts in developing its services and clarifying the rulings of Sharia which reflect the bright image of Islam in line with the themes of the Amman Message and the sound thought of the Hashemite leadershipto help counter extremist views in our society.

If the buried treasure is Islamic, it is considered Luqta (lost property), and the finder must announce it to locate its owner. If all efforts to find the owner fail, the finder may take ownership of it. If the treasure is non-Islamic and consists of gold or silver, zakat must be paid on it, which is one-fifth of its value. In our region in southern Oman, specifically in the city of Taqah, there is a mosque that they say was built hundreds of years ago. This mosque is surrounded by graves, meaning it is in the middle and the graves are around it. Praying in this mosque is valid and and there is reprehensibility in its location so long as no grave exist within it. Besides, Sharia rulings aren't derived out of dreams. And Allah Knows Best.

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds                                                                                                                                                                  Witr (an odd number prayer performed between Isha`a and Fajr) is offered with a minimum of one Rak`ah, and a maximum of eleven, but offering three Rak`ahs is the minimum of its complete form. Does Husband fasting while being impure for having sexual intercourse with his wife at night permissible?

Yes it is permissible for you to fast because impurity isn't among valid fasting conditions, but you are obliged to perform ritual impurity in order to catch up Fajr prayer at its due time. And Allah Knows Best.
