The Fatwa Department of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was founded in 1921. Since its formation, it has relied upon Hanafi fatwas which were in use during the Ottoman era, and the Mufti has answered the questions of members of the public, whether they relate to worship or financial transactions or personal statutes, and it has assigned a mufti to each judge in cities both large and small. It seems that your menstrual cycle lasts seven days, not six. Therefore, you should wait until the bleeding stops, then perform ghusl and pray. And Allah Knows Best.

Do the Jinn have anything to do with the disappearance of objects?

Jinn are one of Allah creatures, and whosoever lost anything should look for it and never accuse niether the Jinn nor humans of stealing it. And Allah Knows Best.

Clarification from Iftaa` Department

The General Iftaa` Department celebrates along with all Jordanians the Anniversary of the Royal Accession to the Throne and takes pride in all the gains achieved since the founding of the kingdom until now. It takes this opportunity to congratulate His Majesty King Abdullah II on the twentieth anniversary of his accession to the throne. In the meantime, it stresses that it is the duty of every citizen to preserve and take part in the advancement of our country at all levels.

Moreover, the Iftaa` Department confirms that it hasn`t recently issued a statement regarding patriotic songs and calls on media to avoid using the religion for unprofessional incitement during such significant national occasions.

There is no harm on reciting verses of the Holy Qur'an over water and use it for cure. And Allah Knows Best.

What is the ruling on smoking?

All Perfect Praise is due to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds

Smoking is forbidden (Haram) since it is harmful to one`s health as confirmed by trustful physicians, and Islam has forbidden taking anything that causes harm. The Prophet (PBUH) said: "There should be neither harm nor reciprocated harm." [Ibn Majah and Ahmad]. And Allah Knows Best.

Is prayer mandatory on a dying person who goes through a state of unconsciousness, then wakes up?

If he wakes up and was conscious, then he should pray the way/manner he could, but if he wasn't, then he is exempted from obligatory prayer as Allah Says in this regard (What means): "On no soul doth God Place a burden greater than it can bear." [Al-Baqarah/286].

Is it permissible for men to wear silver bracelets and necklaces?

Men are allowed to wear silver rings, but they aren`t allowed to wear bracelets and necklaces because by doing so they imitate women. And Allah Knows Best.
