Since its formation, it has relied upon Hanafi fatwas which were in use during the Ottoman era, and the Mufti has answered the questions of members of the public, whether they relate to worship or financial transactions or personal statutes, and it has assigned a mufti to each judge in cities both large and small. A woman didn't fufill fasting of the month of Ramadan two years ago, due to pregnancy and breastfeeding, at the time being she is making up the missed Ramadan. What is the ruling of Sharia? And what is due on her?

Whosoever break the fast during Ramadan or didn't fast at all due to health concerns, is obliged to make up the missed fasts whenever she could so long as making up missed Ramadan didn't extend to the coming one, and if next one arrived without fulling fasting the missed one, the ransom is 60 grams for each missed day (Equals 60 piasters to one Dinar for each day). And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

I have 490 shares in a commercial company, and they have been held for a year. The price of each share is one dinar, noting that the shares are at a loss. I want to know the amount of zakat due on them?

Commercial shares are subject to zakat based on their current market value, even if they are at a loss. The zakat rate is 2.5%. And Allah Knows Best.

Is Zakah (obligatory charity) due on articles of merchandise even if they were stacked in the merchant`s stores for years?

Yes, Zakah is due on goods even if they were stacked in merchant`s stores for years, in this manner Islam struggle against monopoly.

Is it permissible to pay the Fitr Zakah (obligatory charity) of Ramadan on behalf of a dead person?

The Fitr Zakah of Ramadhaan isn`t due on one who had passed away before the sunset of the last day of Ramadan. And Allah Knows Best.

The General Iftaa` Department celebrates along with all Jordanians the Anniversary of the Royal Accession to the Throne and takes pride in all the gains achieved since the founding of the kingdom until now. It takes this opportunity to congratulate His Majesty King Abdullah II on the twentieth anniversary of his accession to the throne. The best course of action is that you turn to Allah for help and quit the hookah. In addition, acquainting yourself with the risks of smoking hookah will help you take this step. And Allah, The Most Exalted Knows Best

Is it permissible to thin the eyebrows or remove them and draw in their place?

Thinning the eyebrows, removing them, and drawing in their place—known as Namas—is prohibited. The Prophet (peace be upon him) cursed those who do it. And Allah Knows Best.

I wear braces because I had an accident. However, Iam afraid that I could die and be buried while wearing them because they are permanent installation. Is this forbidden? I also wear false teeth. Should I ask my children to pull them out after I die?

If the braces are worn to get teeth back to normal, then there is no sin in that and there is also no harm in wearing false teeth. Moreover, you don`t have to have them removed after your passing away as this undermines the dignity of the dead. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
