A Muslim isn't permitted to use the recording of Quaranic recitation as ringtone since it entails using Quranic verses improperly in the sense that there is discontinuity of recitation, lack of focus on the meaning and misinterpretation of verses.
Further, it is stated in Resolution No.(107) (1/19) of the International Islamic Fiqh Assembly affiliated to the Muslim World League what follows:" Using recordings of Quranic verses as mobile alarm or waiting tone, and the like is impermissible,. This because they might be played at the wrong time and in the wrong place, which involves degrading the Holy Quran itself due to the discontinuity of the verses and the inattentiveness to their meaning.
