Resolution No.(282)(18/2019), By The Board of Iftaa', Researches and Islamic Studies:

"Islamic Ruling on Shooting a Scene in a Cemetery"

Date: 25/Safar/1441 AH, corresponding to 24/10/2019 AD.

 

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.

On its tenth session held on the above date, the Board reviewed the letter No.(2/1/1/12580) sent from His Excellency the Secretary General of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf Islamic Affairs and Holy Places Mr. Abdullah Al-Abbadi, and it reads as follows:

In reference to the letter of the Director of Production Services at the Royal Film Commission concerning shooting a scene in a cemetery in Swaileh area, could Your Grace explain the ruling of Sharia on that?

After careful consideration, the Board decided what follows:

If the scene to be filmed in the cemetery is confined to visiting a grave and reciting Al-Fatihah there then there is nothing wrong with that so long as the rules of visiting graves are adhered to. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

What is the ruling on performing istinja' before every ablution?

Istinja' is not from the conditions for the validity of ablution. It is only obligatory for prayer when there is impurity from urine or stool on the private part, or if there is fear of the impurity spreading to the body or clothing. And Allah the Almighty knows best.

I went to the health center today to take an intramuscular injection of Neurorubin B12. The nurse told me that this type of injection breaks the fast because it nourishes the body. Is this true? I have heard that intramuscular injections do not break the fast, but I was unsure about this type, so I decided not to take the injection.
 
 
 
 
 

Therapeutic injections administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly do not invalidate the fast because they do not enter the digestive tract through an open passage. However, intravenous injections containing nutritional fluids do break the fast, as they are akin to food and drink in effect. Whoever conditions disbelief on something and intends to disbelieve if it happens, he becomes a disbeliever immediately. Therefore, you must pronounce the two testimonies of faith (Shahada) and reconcile with your wife if she is in her waiting period (Iddah).
