Resolution No.(84) by the Board of Iftaa`, Research and Islamic Studies:

“Ruling on Missionary Cassettes“

Date: 6/2/1426 AH, corresponding to 6/4/2005 AD.

 

 

Question:

 

What is the ruling on circulating missionary cassettes  throughout the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan?

Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah The Lord of The Worlds

The Board is of the view that the concerned authorities must take the necessary course of action to stop circulating these cassettes because their corpus contradicts  Islamic Sharia. And Allah Knows Best.

Is it permissible for a financially capable woman to pay the Zakat to her sons or one of them?

It is permissible for a mother to give her children from zakat if they are eligible to receive it, even though she is obligated to provide for them. This is based on the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) regarding Zainab, the wife of Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them): "Your husband and your children are more deserving of your charity" [Al-Bukhari]. What is the Islamic ruling on parents asking son to divorce his wife?

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.

If their asking him to do so is justified in Sharia, then there is no blame on him to obey them. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Which hour coincides with the last third of the night?

This hour could be figured out by calculating the number of night hours which start at sunset, and end at dawn break, then the total is divided on three to get the result.

Is it permissible for a woman who broke fasting due to a delivery to pay a ransom?

She should make up for the missed fasting days once she becomes ritually pure, but it is impermissible for her to pay a ransom while being able to fast.
