Resolution No.(66): "Ruling on Benefiting from the World Bank`s Grant Presented to the Ministry of Social Affairs“

Date: 16/5/1424AH, corresponding to 16/7/2003AD

 

The Board received the following question:

What is the ruling of Sharia as regards benefiting from the grant presented to the Ministry of Social affairs by the World Bank?

Answer: All success is due to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds.

After careful study and deliberation, the Board deems that it is permissible to benefit from the World Bank`s grant within the outline proposed by “Questscope“, provided that the loans given to the beneficiaries have zero-interest.

Moreover, it is permissible that a Zakat committee from Amman area, or else takes charge of possessing and running credit funds in accordance with the rules of Islamic Sharia. And Allah Knows Best.

Summarized Fatawaa

I became ill while fasting and had to take an intramuscular injection twice on two consecutive days during Ramadan. I continued my fast as usual, as I was told that intramuscular injections do not break the fast. Please advise me so that I can know the correct ruling.
 
 
 
 
 

Subcutaneous and intramuscular therapeutic injections are not considered as invalidators of fasting because they do not enter the stomach through an open passage. However, intravenous injections containing nutritional fluids do invalidate the fast, as they are akin to food and drink in purpose. Therefore, your fast is valid. And Allah Knows Best.
 
 
 
 
 
 

What is the Time for Making up Fajr Prayer and Other Missed Ones?

 
All perfect praise be to Allah The Lord of The Worlds and may His Peace and Blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all of his familty and companion.
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever forgets a prayer, let him perform it when he remembers it." [Muslim]. As soon as you (Questioner) wake up, you are obliged to make up the missed Fajr prayer. And Allah Knows Best.

Is it permissible for a person to give the Zakah (obligatory charity) to his daughter-in-law?

Yes, it is permissible for a person to give the Zakah to his daughter-in-law if she was poor, and none provided for particularly by whom are obliged to provide for her. And Allah Knows Best.

Is it permissible to move a grave from its current location to another place, for example, from a garden in a home to a cemetery, knowing that the grave has been there for a long time, about fifty years?

It is not permissible to move the deceased from his grave, as this may result in breaking his bones and violating his sanctity. Such actions are not allowed. And Allah Knows Best.
