Subject : It is Forbidden to Sell Vessels Allocated for Preserving Intoxicants

Question :

Is it lawful or unlawful to sell wine cans? In addition, is the ruling on selling wine cans similar to that of selling other cans?


The Answer :

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

 

If the wine cans are sold to wine factories to be reused, then this is definitely forbidden because it is helping in sin and transgression.

 

However, if the cans are sold to factories that recycle cans to be used for keeping lawful liquids, then this is permissible. And Allah the Almighty Knows Best.
