Resolution No.(84) by the Board of Iftaa`, Research and Islamic Studies:

“Ruling on Missionary Cassettes“

Date: 6/2/1426 AH, corresponding to 6/4/2005 AD.

 

 

Question:

 

What is the ruling on circulating missionary cassettes  throughout the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan?

Answer: All perfect praise be to Allah The Lord of The Worlds

The Board is of the view that the concerned authorities must take the necessary course of action to stop circulating these cassettes because their corpus contradicts  Islamic Sharia. And Allah Knows Best.

Should a minor fulfill his vow?

The vow of a minor is countless because he isn`t required to meet the Sharia rulings at such an age, and it is desirable for him to fulfill that vow once he reaches puberty.

Is it permissible to repeat the Istikhara (seeking guidance) prayer, and is it a condition that one should sleep after offering it?

All perfect praise be to Allah,The Lord of The Worlds                                                                                                                                                            Istikhara is offered once, but it is permissible to repeat it, and sleeping after offering it is not a condition for its validity. And Allah Knows Best.

My mother is 70 years old and wishes to perform Hajj and Umrah, as she has never done so before. However, she also takes care of my ill father and is afraid of falling ill herself. What should she do?
 
 
 
 
 
 

If this is the obligatory Hajj – meaning she has not previously performed Hajj or Umrah – then it is permissible for her to go even without her husband's approval. However, she must travel with a Mahram (a male guardian) or a trustworthy group of women, and she should leave someone to care for her husband and attend to his needs. Perjury is forbidden and one of the major sins that require turning to Allah in repentance, seeking His forgiveness, giving back rights to whom they belong, or seeking their forgiveness, and expiating for that oath.
