Resolution No.(33): "Ruling on Investing Orphans` Funds into Development Bonds“

Date: 7/11/1413 AH corresponding to 29/4/1993 AD.

 

The Board has received the following question:

 

What is the Sharia ruling on investing orphans` funds in development bonds and treasury bills?

 

Answer: All success is due to Allah.

 

The Board is of the view that it is forbidden because it is a usury-based loan. And Allah Knows Best.

What is the ruling on determining the sex of the baby whether through killing the female spermatozoa, or any other way in order to have a male?

If it is done through having a certain type of food, taking a certain type of medication, or organizing the time of the marital relation, then it is permissible.

Is it permissible for the woman to use her mobile phone while on the street?

Modesty should be observed by the woman at all times, so she is free to use her phone while on the street as long as it is done within the limits of Islamic manners.

What is the ruling on not fulfilling a vow?

A vow is a commitment towards Allah, The Almighty, and so, it should be observed as much as possible, and it is impermissible to take it lightly. Allah, The Exalted, says –in commending the believers-: “(Because) they perform the vow and fear a day whereof the evil is wide-spreading,”{Al-Insan/7}.

What is the Time for Making up Fajr Prayer and Other Missed Ones?

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever forgets a prayer, let him perform it when he remembers it." [Moslim]. As soon as you (Questioner) wake up, you are obliged to make up the missed Fajr prayer. And Allah Knows Best.
