Resolution No.(31): "Ruling on Drawings Designed by a Talented French Artist, Derived from Verses of the Noble Quran“

Date: 7/11/1413 AH corresponding to 29/4/1993AD.

The Board has received the following question:
What is the ruling of Sharia regarding drawings designed by a talented French artist, derived from verses of the Noble Quran?
Answer: All success is due to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds.
This artist employs verses of the Noble Quran in depicting human beings, animals, and still images of chariots and the like. The Board is of the view that such an act degrades the verses of the Noble Quran, so it is impermissible, and doing so in good faith doesn`t intercede for this artist because he could have followed in the footsteps of the former Muslim calligraphists who expressed their talents through beautiful drawings in which they wrote verses of the Noble Quran with the purpose of dignifying it, rather than making it a means for something else. And Allah, The Almighty Knows Best.

Is it permissible for me to eat from the animal that I slaughtered for Allah to protect my family?

It is permissible to eat from the non-vowed animal sacrifice, and the person is rewarded based on the amount of meat that he had given to the poor. However, there is no evidence in Islamic Sharia indicating that slaughtering an animal protects one`s family, but it is a way for thanking Allah, The Almighty, for his grace.

What is the Islamic ruling on parents asking son to divorce his wife?

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.

If their asking him to do so is justified in Sharia, then there is no blame on him to obey them. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

I swear that I will leave the religion of Allah if I return to smoking" and then returned to smoking. What is the ruling?

Whoever conditions disbelief on something and intends to disbelieve if it happens, he becomes a disbeliever immediately. Therefore, you must pronounce the two testimonies of faith (Shahada) and reconcile with your wife if she is in her waiting period (Iddah).  have an amount of 2,700 Jordanian dinars, which I have invested in a project, and I pay zakat on it every year. However, I have debts and obligations, and this project yields only a profit of about 2-4%. My salary is not enough to support myself and my family to the extent that I cannot pay the electricity bills. Is it permissible for me to take from the above Zakat?
 

You permitted to take from your Zakat since your income insufficient for you, because the poor is permitted to take from the Zakat in general, besides; the poor is identified of whose income doesn't suffice him. And Allah Knows Best.
