Resolution No.(114): "Prayer Mats on which the Word Allah is Inscribed"

Date: 6/8/1427 AH, corresponding to 30/8/2006 AD.

The board received the following question:

What is the ruling of Sharia as regards pieces of prayer mat on which the word {Alla-Call} is inscribed?

Answer: All success is due to Allah.

After examining the above mentioned pieces of mat, the Board decided that it is impermissible to spread them on the ground because doing so abases the word ”Allah“ and subjects it to being stepped on. And Allah Knows Best.

Summarized Fatawaa

Is it permissible for the person who wants to travel from the United Arab Emirates to Jordan during the day in Ramadan to break his fast before leaving his country; knowing that he had embarked on journey half an hour after dawn?

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.

The person who made the intention to embark on journey after dawn must observe fast for that day, because it became an obligation on him before engaging on journey. However, if he experienced unbearable hardship while on travel, then he is permitted to break his fast, but he must make up for the missed day. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Is Aqeeqah due on the miscarried embryo?

No Aqeeqah is due on the dead embryo.

What is the ruling on working for orphans' institution?

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

After I had prayed, I found a drop of menstrual blood and was unsure when that happened; what is the ruling on my prayer and fast?

All praise is due to Allah, peace and blessing be upon the Messenger of Allah.

Your prayer and fast are correct ,and you should not make up for them, and we ask Allah, The Almighty, to duely reward you for these acts of worship. Your menses start once you see blood because the situation remains as such unless there is certainty or predominant conjecture, as per the Fiqh maxim: "Certainty is not removed by doubt". And Allah Knows Best.
