The Fatwa Department of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was founded in 1921. There is no harm on visiting graveyard by woman with the intention of piety so long as they are dressed in accordance to the Islamic teachings. We ask Allah, The Almighty that the reward of reciting the Holy Qur'an on dedicated to the deceased reaches him. And Allah Knows Best.

What is the ruling on uncovering the eyes while wearing a Khimar?

According to Sharia, a woman`s clothing shouldn`t be attractive so as to prevent sedition. However, it is better for a woman to be on the safe side and avoid such clothes. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Is Zakah (obligatory charity) obligatory on indebted merchant?

Debt doesn`t abrogate the dueness of Zakah, thus a debtor who has money, articles of merchandise, or other Zakah funds at his disposal should pay their Zakah.

Does bleeding from the body, such as from wounds, invalidate ablution?

Bleeding doesn't invalidate person's ablution. And Allah Knows Best.

Who are the blood-relatives with whom kinship ties should be maintained?

Blood-relatives are those from the side of one`s father and mother: grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles, and aunts. And Allah Knows Best.

What is the ruling on swearing on the Holy Quran and breaking that oath?

It is impermissible to swear on the Holy Quran in vain, and it is also impermissible to subject it to such an act since breaking the oath after swearing on the Quran entails an expiation.
