Statement on the Circulated Fatwa Forbidding Abstaining from Paying the Water Bill 

 

In the Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Most Compassionate

 

Allah the Almighty says {What means}: "The General Iftaa` Department confirms that it hasn`t recently issued a Fatwa forbidding abstaining from paying the water bill and the news circulated social media concerns an old Fatwa included in the book entitled (The Guide on Water from an Islamic Perspective) addressing Imams and preachers.

 

The Department calls on journalists to be objective and choose the right time in publishing its Fatwa since unsuitable time and place takes the Fatwa out of context with the intention of abuse and distortion.

We ask Almighty Allah to protect our country from seditions and afflictions, be they revealed or concealed.

Prayer isn`t nullified by having thoughts while performing it, provided that the praying person offers all of its pillars and meets all of its conditions. However, the reward decreases significantly in the absence of reverence since a praying person is rewarded according to the attentiveness of his/her heart during prayer.

Aishah narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whichever woman married without the permission of her Wali her marriage is invalid, her marriage is invalid, her marriage is invalid. If he entered into her, then the Mahr is for her in lieu of what he enjoyed from her private part. If they disagree, then the Sultan is the Wali for one who has no Wali." I`m getting old and haven`t got married yet. I love wearing the veil, but people advised me to take it off because it could stand in the way of my marriage, and that I should wear it after getting married, what should I do?

The veil (face drape) is the wear of the Prophet`s (PBUH) wives and righteous female companions (May Allah be pleased with them) and whoever imitates a certain group of people shall receive the same reward or punishment like themselves. Only those who are religiously poor deny women wearing the veil, and thinking that it stops a woman from getting married is from the evil suggestions of the devil.
