Statement by the General Iftaa` Department on His Majesty King Abdullah II`s Decision Regarding the Restoration of the Lands of Baqoura and Ghamr

 

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

 

Allah the Almighty says {what means}: " Before this We wrote in the Psalms, after the Message (given to Moses): My servants the righteous, shall inherit the earth." {Al-Anbiyaa`, 105}.

 

The General Iftaa` Department appreciates the courageous stance of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein to terminate the Baqoura and Al-Ghamr agreement, which represents a historic moment in the history of Jordan and the Jordanians.

 

This historic achievement is added to the record of the Hashemites, which is full of great accomplishments in preserving the Arab and Islamic identity, and defending lands and sanctities, including the Hashemite Custodianship over Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock.

This wise decision achieves the noble royal vision that emanates from the constants of Jordanian sovereignty and aims to preserve every atom of the soil of this dear country so that Jordan remains dear and lofty, and the right returns to its owners.

 

In this occasion, we remember the sacrifices of the Arab Army in defending Jordan and preserving its dignity.

 

We pray that Allah protects Jordan under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

What is the ruling of Sharia on woman shaking hands with non-Mahram man?

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "It is better to be stabbed in the head than touch a woman to whom one isn`t related." [Transmitted by Al-Tabarani /Al-Mo`jam Al-Kabir, Hadith No.16880]. Accordingly, it is forbidden for men to shake hands with non-Mahram* woman. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
 
 
* The women/men that you are allowed to marry. It includes all women/men other than mahram (including cousins).

I underwent a procedure for a molar pregnancy (hydatidiform mole), and after that, the bleeding continued for more than two months, during which I did not pray. Do I need to make up the missed prayers?

If you have previously experienced postpartum bleeding, the duration of the current bleeding is treated the same as your previous postpartum period. Any bleeding that exceeds this duration must be considered irregular bleeding (istihada), and you must make up the missed prayers. If this is the first time, then any bleeding beyond sixty days is considered irregular bleeding. You must perform ghusl, pray, and make up the prayers for the days beyond the sixty-day limit. I`m a married young man. I fell in love with a widow and proposed to her but her family refused because they feared that this would have an adverse impact on the future of her children. I`m a person who fears Allah, The Almighty and want to clear myself from any liability before Him, The Exalted. What should I do?

It is imperative that you proclaim this marriage to preserve rights. Therefore, you must register it in an Islamic court. A second marriage isn`t forbidden, however, if the unregistered marriage had taken place without the consent of the woman`s guardian nor the presence of two honorable witnesses, then it is considered void and your relationship with this woman is forbidden. Therefore, you must conclude a new marriage contract with the approval of her guardian and the presence of two honorable witnesses. We advise you to fear Allah and adhere to the teachings of Sharia in this regard since sinful conduct is that which turns in your heart (making you feel uncomfortable) and you dislike that it would be disclosed to other people. And Allah The Almighy Knows Best.

Was Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon him) baptized?

It is established that Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) was circumcised on the eighth day after his birth, as was the case with all children of the Children of Israel. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
