Statement on the Anniversary of Amman Bombings

 

At this time every year, Jordanians recall the bombing of three hotels in the city of Amman in 2005 by a group of terrorists who carry extreme thought. This cowardly act led to the death of a group of innocent citizens.

 

We, Iftaa` Department, ask Allah to accept those martyrs, admit them into paradise and grant their families patience and solace. We call on all citizens to hold on to the principles of national unity and unite against whoever attempts to tamper with the security and stability of Jordan and its people. We also call on condemning terrorist and extremist ideas since they don`t represent true Islam, are considered abnormal behavior, and alien to our society.

 

The Department also calls on supporting the army and the security forces to deter whoever tries to destabilize our security and stability.

 

We ask Almighty Allah to protect our country and keep it safe under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and that peace and stability prevail in all Muslim countries. And all perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.

It is not permissible for an elderly person, a pregnant woman, or someone with a chronic illness to pay fidyah before Ramadan begins.
Additionally, it is not allowed to pay fidyah for more than one day in advance, because fidyah is a substitute for fasting, and fasting is not yet obligatory at that time.
However, it is permissible to pay fidyah for a single day in advance, by analogy with paying zakat up to one year in advance.

Standing (Al-Qiyam) while having the ability to do so is one of the pillars (Arkan) of the prayer; the obligatory (Faridah) prayer is not valid without it. However, whoever is unable to stand may pray sitting down. As for voluntary (Nafilah) prayers, it is permissible to pray them sitting even if one is able to stand, but the one sitting receives half the reward of the one who prays standing. And Allah the Exalted knows best.

How many Rak`ahs (unit of prayer) are offered in Witr prayer?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds                                                                                                                                                                  Witr (an odd number prayer performed between Isha`a and Fajr) is offered with a minimum of one Rak`ah, and a maximum of eleven, but offering three Rak`ahs is the minimum of its complete form. All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds                                                                                                                                                                        It is permissible for a sick person, who is unable to stand up, to offer prayer while sitting on a chair. If he/she was unable to prostrate while on the chair, the he/she should pray while sitting on the ground, but if he/she was neither able to bow (Roku),nor to prostrate, then he can do them while sitting on the chair. And Allah Knows Best.
