Statement on the Disgraceful Scene Shown on a Satellite Channel

 

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

We, along with all citizens, resented the outrageous scene shown by one of the satellite channels, contradicting all the constants of Islam and the teachings of divine religions. This is since it promotes homosexuality, obscenity and transgression against the virtuous values and ethics of the Jordanian society. Allah the Almighty says {What means}: " Those who love (to see) scandal published broadcast among the Believers, will have a grievous Penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: God knows, and ye know not." {An-Nur, 19}.

 

In light of this, We (Iftaa` Department) emphasize that media has a meaningful message and shoulders the responsibility of instilling noble values and strong morals and ethics, which play a vital role in the upbringing of the future generations. Consequently, this obscene scene defies the morals and the established foundations of committed media in our society. And Allah the Almighty knows best.

If this is the obligatory Hajj – meaning she has not previously performed Hajj or Umrah – then it is permissible for her to go even without her husband's approval. However, she must travel with a Mahram (a male guardian) or a trustworthy group of women, and she should leave someone to care for her husband and attend to his needs. You should do your best to save her from hellfire by making her observe daily prayers on their prescribed times, even if this means giving her a generous incentive. However, if she insisted on her position, then it is permissible for you to divorce her. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Is it permissible for a woman to use a contraceptive without telling her husband although he wants to have as many children as possible and she can`t care for them?

If the pregnancy is harmful to the woman, it is permissible for her to use a contraceptive; however, this has to be backed by a medical report from a God-fearing doctor. In addition, you had better inform your of what you are doing to avoid dispute. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
