Statement on Banning Forbidden Festivals

 

All perfect praise is due to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad, his family and noble companions.

 

Recently, there has been calls by some media outlets for holding festivals with unlawful names and immoral acts, such as the so called "Wine Festival." 

 

We, Iftaa` Department, stress that calling for, holding and taking part in such festivals violates the teachings of Islam, negates authentic values of Islam and the customs and traditions of this Hashemite country of ours.

 

We, Iftaa` Department, call on all citizens to boycott these festivals because they corrupt country and people. We also call on the concerned authorities to ban holding such festivals to protect our true religion and the safety of our society.

 

We also highly appreciate the statement issued by the Ministry of Interior banning such festivals and holding their organizers accountable before the law.

 

We pray that Allah protects our country against sins, tests and trials, be they concealed or revealed. And all perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.

From an Islamic perspective, it is permissible for a man to marry an older woman. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best..

What is the stance of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah regarding the historical figure known as 'the Sufyani,' who some say will appear at the end of times? And what is the stance of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah regarding the group that killed Al-Husayn ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them), particularly those who directly committed the killing, severed his head, and killed members of his family?

Most of the narrations about the signs of the Hour concerning the Sufyani, who is said to appear before the Mahdi, indicate that he is the leader of the army that will invade the Kaaba, and Allah will cause the earth to swallow them. We disassociate ourselves before Allah from those who killed Al-Husayn Ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them), supported his killing, or encouraged it, whether openly or secretly. Is a person who is in a state of Janabah (major ritual impurity due to having a marital intercourse, ejaculation, menstruation, and post-delivery impurities) sinful if he/she goes about his/her daily life activities in that state i.e. without making Ghusl (ritual bath)?

It goes without saying that a Muslim should always be in a state of ritual purity so as to be able to perform prayers and recite Quran. It is from Sunnah (Prophetic tradition) that a Muslim hastens to make Ghusl from Janabah, but he/she is not sinful in case he/she delayed that provided that he/she doesn`t miss prayers. However, it is permissible for him/her to go about their daily activities while in a state of Janabah, but had better bathe in order not to miss any prayer.

Is it permissible for a husband to sell his wife`s jewelry if he was in a hard up?

A woman`s jewelry and dowry are her own property, and it is forbidden for the husband to take either without obtaining her approval. However, it is desirable for the wife to support her husband through considering her jewelry a sort of documented debt on him.
