The Fatwa Department of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was founded in 1921. Since its formation, it has relied upon Hanafi fatwas which were in use during the Ottoman era, and the Mufti has answered the questions of members of the public, whether they relate to worship or financial transactions or personal statutes, and it has assigned a mufti to each judge in cities both large and small. What is the ruling on eating the food prepared by Christians friends knowing that their income comes from trading in alcoholic drinks?

It isn`t allowed to have the food of the person whose source of income is unlawful. However, if it is a mixture of lawful and unlawful, then it is permissible to have their food. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

King Bestows State Centennial Medal on Iftaa` Department

His Majesty King Abdullah II bestowed the State Centennial Medal on the General Iftaa` Department (9/10/2022) for its adherence to the moderate centrist Islamic method of fatwa and avoiding aberrant fatwas.

The State Centennial Medal was received by Sheikh AbdulKareem AlKhasawneh during the celebration of Prophet Mohammad`s birth anniversary held by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs at the King Abdullah I Mosque in Amman.

If the Sharia's conditions were met, then there is no harm in this. And Allah The Exalted Knows Best.

Is it permissible for a woman who is in her confinement to fast upon seeing blood signs that are neither black, nor red ?

Brownish, reddish, and yellowish discharges are all considered confinement until there is no colored discharge which marks the end of confinement. Moreover, the aforesaid woman is prohibited from fasting until she attains ritual purity. And Allah Knows Best.

What is the ruling of Sharia on transplanting kidneys bought from another country because there are no donors from amongst the relatives of the patient?

Is it permissible for a girl to wear colored contact lenses?

Wearing colored contact lenses for medical treatment is permissible, and wearing them as an adornment is also permissible, provided that she isn`t seen while having them on by non-Mahrams. And Alalh Knows Best.
