Question :

I got an job contract offer with a better salary. As expected, medical examinations were a must and I have hepatitis whereas this was a big hindrance to obtain the job; meanwhile, a person offered me a negative medical report in return of some cash. What is the ruling of Sharia in this regard?

The Answer :

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and may His blessings and peace .be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all of his family and companions.

Allah, the Almighty commanded us to mantain truth, since He said(what means):" O ye who believe! Fear God and be with those who are true (in word and deed). [At-Tawbeh/119]. In order to be truthful, you(asker) should give an original medical report showing your accurate case . Moreover,  providing a false medical examination is considered falsehood, cheating and fraud which Allah Has forbidden.

In this regard, the Prophet (PBUH) said (what means):" We were in the company of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) that he observed: Should I not inform you about the most grievous of the grave sins? (The Holy Prophet) repeated it three times, and then said: Associating anyone with Allah, disobedience to parents, false testimony or false utterance. The Prophet (PBUH) sat up after he had been reclining and added, "And I warn you against giving forged statement and a false witness; I warn you against giving a forged statement and a false witness." The Prophet kept on saying that warning till we thought that he would not stop. [Realted by Al-Bukhary].

In addition, the offer that was presented to you (Questioner) is considered falsification and rancor, and you are obliged to avoid being part of this, since Allah, the Almighty, said(what means):" Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah. for Allah is strict in punishment." [Al-Ma'idah/2]. Therefore, we advise you to adhere to the truth, as you will be granted a greater reward from Allah, The Amighty because whatever you leave for His Sake, He, The Most Exalted will reward you with something better than you have left in return. And Allah knows best.
