Question :

I have been wearing niqab for a long time. In the last few years, I started experiencing sharp pain in my eyes, so I went to an ophthalmologist and he recommended that I take my niqab off. Latter on, my sight became poor and I fell to the ground several times. It is worth pointing out that I can`t wear niqab while having eyeglasses on. Is it permissible for me to take my niqab off?

The Answer :

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

Undoubtedly, this is the dress of the Prophet`s wives and the wives of the believers, and whoever imitates a people will be gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection.

If this Niqab (Face veil) causes you (Asker) health problems, then you may take it off provided that you preserve decency as far as possible. And Allah the Almighty Knows Best.
