Question :

We have noticed the spread of invalid Fatwas via internet and websites of some Muslim scholars. What is the impact of such a phenomenon?



The Answer :

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.


 It is totally unacceptable for the questioner to say: “Some Fatwas are invalid” unless he specifies a Fatwa and clarifies the aspect in which it violates the principles of Islamic Law. However, the internet provides a window of opportunity for the Muslim scholars to convey their view points and knowledge to a larger audience, thus they should make use of it as much as possible.
