The Terrorist Crime in America and Libya

 

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

The General Iftaa` Department ascertains that the killing of the innocent based on religious, sectarian or racial affiliations poses a serious threat to all humanity and a transgression rejected by Islam, the religion of mercy and human dignity. Allah says {what means}: "We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures." {Al-Anbiya`, 107}. He also says {What means}: "We have honoured the sons of Adam;" {Al-Israa`, 70}.

The Department strongly condemns the heinous crime that took place in the United States and led to the death of three Muslims. It also condemns the horrible crime in which a number of Egyptian Coptic Christians were beheaded in Libya. A crime so abhorring that it shook the world conscience. However, these stonehearted criminals don`t represent Islam and Islam is innocent from them.

Accordingly, the Department calls on scholars, thinkers and opinion influencers to stand up to extremism, display the true luminous image of Islam and prevent the attack against it. This is since mistaking Islam for extremism disrupts and destroys human societies. We ask Allah to bless our beloved country, along with other Muslim countries, with peace and security.

What is the ruling on forgetting an integral of the prayer?

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our Master, the Messenger of Allah.
 
Whoever forgets an integral (Rukn) of the prayer and remembers it before reaching the equivalent point in the subsequent unit (Rak'ah), must return to it (i.e., perform it) and complete his prayer, then perform the prostration of forgetfulness (Sujud al-Sahw) at the end of his prayer. However, if he remembers it after reaching the equivalent point in the subsequent unit, the Rak'ah in which the integral was forgotten is invalidated, and the current unit takes its place; he then completes a full Rak'ah to compensate and performs the prostration of forgetfulness.
 
It is stated in Nihayat al-Muhtaj ila Sharh al-Minhaj (Vol.1/P.543): 'If he becomes certain at the end of his prayer, or after the Salam—provided the interval is not long according to custom and he has not stepped on an impurity—that he omitted a prostration from the final Rak'ah, he must perform it and repeat the Tashahhud, as his previous Tashahhud occurred before its proper place. If the omission was from a Rak'ah other than the final one, he must perform a full Rak'ah, because the deficient unit was completed by a prostration from the subsequent one, rendering the rest of that subsequent unit void.' The default ruling is that public street water is pure (tahir). If one is certain of its impurity (najasa), then a small amount that gets on the lower part of a person's clothes or body is overlooked (excused). And Allah the Almighty knows best.

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds.                                                                                                                                                                  Any other part of Qur'an that a worshiper reads after Al-Faatihah during the first and the second Rak`ahs is a Sunnah, and forgetting to do so doesn`t nullify prayer, and doesn`t require performing Sujood As-Sahw (prostration of forgetfulness). And Allah Knows Best.
