What is the ruling on performing the obligatory prayer immediately after the commencement of the Adhan?

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our Master, the Messenger of Allah.

It is permissible to perform the obligatory prayer (Fard) immediately after the commencement of the prayer time. As the Adhan (call to prayer) serves as a sign that the time has entered, it is permissible to pray as soon as the Adhan begins. However, it is recommended (Mustahabb) for whoever hears the Mu’adhin to repeat what he says. If the Adhan occurs while one is already engaged in prayer, he should repeat the words of the Mu’adhin after he has completed his prayer. And Allah the Exalted knows best.

What is the ruling on reciting the Chapter after Al-Faatihah , and what should a worshiper who forgets it do?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds. Any other part of Qur'an that a worshiper reads after Al-Faatihah during the first and the second Rak`ahs is a Sunnah, and forgetting to do so doesn`t nullify prayer, and doesn`t require performing Sujood As-Sahw (prostration of forgetfulness). And Allah Knows Best.

What is the ruling of Islamic Law on supplicating with other than the transmitted (Ma'thur) supplications in prayer?

All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our master, the Messenger of Allah.

It is permissible to supplicate (make du'a) during the prayer for anything from the affairs of religion or worldly life, and the prayer is not invalidated by doing so.

Shaykh al-Islam, the Imam an-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, says: "Our madhhab [i.e., the Shafi'i madhhab] holds that it is permissible for a person to supplicate during it [the prayer] with anything that is permissible to supplicate with outside the prayer, from the affairs of religion or worldly life. He may say: 'O Allah, grant me wholesome sustenance, offspring, a house, and a beautiful young wife' — describing her; or: 'O Allah, free so-and-so from prison,' or 'destroy so-and-so,' and other such things — and none of this invalidates his prayer according to us. And this is also the view of Malik, ath-Thawri, Abu Thawr, and Ishaq." [Al-Majmu', Vol.3/P.454]. And Allah, the Exalted, knows best.

Can a person required to give kaffarah feed it to their own family members?

The kaffarah must be given to the poor and needy who are not financially dependent on the one giving the kaffarah.

If a person feeds it to their own family members, it does not count as kaffarah, and their obligation remains unfulfilled.

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) Declares Love

A team of people perceives that adhering to religion and its provisions and love can`t be found in one person because they are contradictory; when one emerges, it blocks out the other and causes it to disappear. This perception represents a deviation from the right path and contradicts truth as well as reality.

If we take the life of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) into consideration, we find that it is replete with love for Allah and His creatures. Moreover, a quick look at the Prophetic Sunnah reveals that love was one of the most notable characteristics of human life and, as believers, we have to follow the Prophet (PBUH) for he is our role model.

He (PBUH) declared his love to his wives, children and grandchildren. One example of this is that Al-Bara' said, "I saw the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when al-Hasan was on his shoulder. He was saying, 'O Allah, I love him, so love him." Also, 'Amr b. al-'As reported that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) sent him in command of the army dispatched to Dhat-as-Salasil. When 'Amr b. al-'As came back to the Prophet (PBUH) he said: Who amongst people are dearest to you? He said: A'isha. He then said: Who amongst men? He said: Her father." {Agreed upon}.

He (PBUH) also declared his love to his Companions. It was narrated that Mu'adhbin Jabal said: "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) took my hand and said: 'I love you, O Mu'adh!' I said: 'And I love you, O Messenger of Allah (PBUH).' Then the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: 'Never forget to say in every prayer: Rabbi a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik (My Lord, help me to remember You, give thanks to You and worship You well.)" He (PBUH) also declared his love to Usama Bin Zaid and his father.

In addition, he (PBUH) directed his Companions to show their love to each other. Anas ibn Malik narrated: A man was with the Prophet (PBUH) and a man passed by him and said: Messenger of Allah! I love this man. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) then asked: Have you informed him? He replied: No. He said: Inform him. He then went to him and said: I love you for Allah's sake. He replied: May He for Whose sake you love me love you!{Ahmad & Abu Dawoud}.

The Prophet (PBUH) also called for spreading love among people and tied that with the love of Allah. Al-Bara reported from the Messenger (may peace and blessing be upon him) that he remarked with regard to the Ansar: "None but the believer loves them, none but the hypocrite hates them. He who loves them loves Allah and he who hates them hates Allah." {Related by Bukhari}. Narrated Ya'la bin Murrah: that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Husain is from me, and I am from Husain. Allah loves whoever loves Husain. " {Related by Tirmith & Ahmad Bin Hanbal}.

The Prophet (PBUH) also pointed out a person will be summoned with the one whom he loves since Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "A person will be summoned with the one whom he loves".

Love wasn`t only declared towards human beings; rather it was declared to inanimate objects as well since they are among the creations of Allah and they celebrate praise of Him. Anas narrated: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "This is a mountain that loves us and is loved by us." {Related by Bukhari}.

In conclusion, these are a handful of passing references to love in the life of the Prophet (PBUH). Thus, it is incumbent upon us to live love and not be ashamed to declare to others including one`s wife, child and friend since the word "love" has a magical effect in people`s hearts.

What can a menstruating woman do on Laylat al-Qadr?

If a menstruating woman engages in remembrance of Allah (dhikr), supplication (du‘a), and sincere devotion, she has indeed observed Laylat al-Qadr. She may also listen to the Quran from audio sources such as the radio or television.

What are the nullifiers of fasting?

1. Anything that enters the body cavity intentionally, even in small amounts, through an open passage such as the mouth, nose, ears, front, or back private parts.

2. Intentional vomiting.

3. Sexual intercourse.

4. Masturbation.

5. Menstruation and postnatal bleeding.

6. Insanity.

7. Apostasy.

8. Fainting if it lasts for the entire day.

I have a date farm, and the dates come in different categories, and within each category there are different sizes. How is zakāh paid on the yield?

All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our master, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

If the yield reaches the niṣāb (the minimum threshold for zakāh to become obligatory) — which is five awsuq (plural of wasq), equivalent to (611) kg — then zakāh becomes obligatory upon it, at a rate of one-tenth ('ushr) if irrigated by rainwater (i.e., naturally, without the use of machinery), or one-twentieth (half of the 'ushr) if irrigated using machinery/equipment.

If the yield of dates consists of different varieties, then zakāh should be paid from each variety according to its respective proportion. If this proves difficult, it is permissible to pay from a medium-quality variety [representative of the average].

It is stated in Ḥāshiyatā Qulyūbī wa ‘Umayrah (Vol.2/P.22): "Different varieties are combined together [for the purpose of calculating the niṣāb] — such as the various types of dates, the various types of raisins, and so on — and zakāh is paid from each type according to its respective proportion. However, if this becomes difficult due to the large number of varieties and the small quantity of each individual type, then zakāh should be paid from a medium-quality variety among them — neither the best nor the worst — out of consideration for both sides [the giver and the poor recipient]. If one goes to the trouble of paying from each variety according to its proportion, this is also permissible." And Allah, the Exalted, knows best.

Is the marriage contract considered valid if concluded at home by the marriage official (Ma`zon)?

Yes, it is valid as long as it is registered at the court.
