Subject : Ruling on Creating a Program to Calculate Delivery Date and Possible Days for Fertility to have a Baby Boy

Question :

There is a computer program that calculates weeks of pregnancy, expected day of delivery, day of last period and possible days for fertility to have a baby boy. What is the ruling of Sharia on this program? Also, what is the ruling on including the following statement within this program: "The programmer believes that Allah is the only One Who Determines the gender of embryo and date of delivery and that He is The One Who Created women and they differ in date of ovulation and if He wills the results expected in this program happen."?


The Answer :

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

 

The above program relies on calculations tried by some doctors, so it is permissible to sell it. However, it is better to include short phrases referring to Allah`s Wisdom and Accuracy of creation to bring the reader closer to Him, believe in His Wisdom and Ability to do all things and that following His Commands is an obligation. Moreover, there is no sin in including the statement mentioned in the above question. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
