The General Ifta Department web site won the golden prize (first rank) as the best government electronic web site in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the year 2009.

Several formal web sites participated in the competition which was held by the JORDAN WEB AWARDS.

It is worth mentioning that there are several criteria adopted by the evaluation committee when choosing the winner site. Some of these criteria are related to the ideas, creativity, easy browsing, content, visual art, and degree of being interactive with site visitors.

What is the ruling on shaving one`s beard?

Growing a beard is an obligation and a Muslim shouldn't do otherwise, besides; what is obligatory in Islam shouldn't be violated save for a necessity. And Allah Knows Best.

Is a woman`s neck an Awrah (private part)?

It is an Awrah, and it is forbidden for her to reveal it before non-Mahrams (Marriageable men). And Allah Knows Best.

Is the woman who do breastfeeding permitted to break the fast during Ramadan?

It is permissible for pregnant and breastfeeding women to break their fast during Ramadan if they fear harm to themselves or their child. However, they must make up for the missed fasts. If the fast is broken out of concern for the fetus or the baby, expiation (Fidya) is also required along with making up the missed fasts. The expiation involves feeding one needy person with an amount equivalent to a Mudd of food (approximately 600 grams of wheat or rice) for each day of missed fasts. Is it permissible for a woman to inherit the same share as of a man?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all if his family and companions.                                                                                                                                                                                                 Thorough studies in which woman's right to inherit according to law of distribution of estate indicates that there are more than one case by which women inherit the same as man and sometimes much more, or to shed the lights regarding the right to inherit while men who share the same family line with her don't have the right to inherit because the deceased has closer ties of kinship with her. In addition to four cases whereas woman inherits half share in comparison with man's share although they had the same degree of kinship with the deceased.
