Resolution No.(112): “Giving Bonuses to the Employees of the Awqaf (Endowments) Funds Development Foundation from the Net Income of Waqf Estates“

Date: 23/7/1427 AH, corresponding to 17/8/2006 AD.

 

The Board received the following question:
What is the ruling of Islamic Sharia regarding the profits yielding from operating the savings bank`s funds of the staff of the Jordan Potash Company at Jordan Export and Finance Bank and Jordan Insurance Company?
Answer: All success is due to Allah
The Board is of the view that the aforementioned profits are unlawful, for Allah The Almighty Says in the Noble Quran (what means): “If ye do it not, Take notice of war from God and His Apostle: But if ye turn back, ye shall have your capital sums: Deal not unjustly, and ye shall not be dealt with unjustly.“ {Al-Baqarah/279}. Therefore, they should be disbursed in favor of the poor, the needy, and public interest. And Allah Knows Best.

Is a wife considered divorced if her husband refused to go to bed with her(for sexual intercourse) for two months?

A wife doesn`t get divorced no matter for how long her husband refuses to have sex with her, and she had better go to court.

Has Islam made it incumbent on us to give our children particular names?

No, it hasn`t, but it is desirable that we give them good names.

Is it permissible for a Muslim physician to specialize in GYNECOLOGY OBSTETRICS, and what is the ruling on working as such?

Some fields of knowledge are an individual duty while others are a collective one, and specializing in GYNECOLOGY OBSTETRICS is a collective duty. However, if there were female physicians to treat women, then there is no need for a male GYNECOLOGY OBSTETRICS specialist to look at women`s Awrahs (private parts) except in necessary situations since the jurisprudential maxim says:” Necessity must only be assessed and answered proportionately.”

Should a woman who broke her fast because of delivery make up for missed fasting days before the next Ramadhaan, and what is the expiation due on her in case she delayed making up for them ?

She should make up for missed fasting days before the start of next Ramadhaan if possible, but if she didn`t while being able to, then she is obliged to make up for them along with feeding a needy person for each delayed day of the missed fasting days. However, if she wasn`t able to make up for the missed fasting days before the start of next Ramadhaan, she has to fast a day for every day that she missed, and no ransom is due on her.
