The Iftaa` Department Condemns the Terrorist Incident in Sri Lanka

 

The General Iftaa` Department condemns the cowardly terrorist incident that targeted a group of churches and hotels in Sri Lanka, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives, attacks on places of worship, and intimidation of safe people. This horrible act contradicts with the higher objectives of Islamic Law as well as all divine laws. It also contradicts with the provisions of Islamic law which aim to enhance peace and security, stop bloodshed and protect places of worship. Such cowardly acts targeting worshippers and places of worship contribute in spreading hatred amongst people and create obstacles amongst them, which keeps them in a state of continued struggle instead of cooperation for the good of humanity.

 

The Department extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to the wounded.

 

We ask Allah to protect Jordan from every evil and bless it with continued peace and security.

This is impermissible, as it involves taking money without providing something of value in return according to Islamic law. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Is it permissible to combine Zuhr and Asr prayers for being occupied with a wedding ceremony?

No, it isn`t permissible to combine Zuhr and Asr, or Maghrib and Isha because of being busy with a wedding since the exemption for combining prayers is based on lawful excuses, and this isn`t one of them. And Allah Knows Best.

I wish to Pray at the Mosque, but I couldn't because I am a Woman. How can I get such a Reward?

All perfect praise be to Allah The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all of his family and companions                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Abdullah Ibn Masood (May Allah be Pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Her prayer inside her home is better than its courtyard, and her prayer in her own bedroom is better than inside her home." [Abu Dawood]. Her staying at home, and not going to the mosque in obedience to Allah`s injunctions entails a great reward similar to that bestowed on a man for going to the mosque since the Mercy and Blessings of Allah Prevails. Is it permissible to make up for the missed fasts of the deceased?

A deceased`s missed fasts should be made up for by his/her guardian. It is also permissible to make up for the missed fasts of a deceased relative, and to pay a ransom in expiation for the latter`s missed fasts, which is feeding a needy person for every missed day. However, the guardian`s permission need to be sought by the non-relatives of the dead to fast on his behalf. And Allah Knows Best.
