Statement on the Circulated Fatwa Forbidding Abstaining from Paying the Water Bill 

 

In the Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Most Compassionate

 

Allah the Almighty says {What means}: "The General Iftaa` Department confirms that it hasn`t recently issued a Fatwa forbidding abstaining from paying the water bill and the news circulated social media concerns an old Fatwa included in the book entitled (The Guide on Water from an Islamic Perspective) addressing Imams and preachers.

 

The Department calls on journalists to be objective and choose the right time in publishing its Fatwa since unsuitable time and place takes the Fatwa out of context with the intention of abuse and distortion.

We ask Almighty Allah to protect our country from seditions and afflictions, be they revealed or concealed.

It is impermissible for a woman to sit with her brothers-in-law, and it is also impermissible for a person to have a Khulwa (seclusion) with his sister-in-law.

 
Islamic creed is a comprehensive creed, and if there is any defect, the creed of the individual or group is not correct. Is the creed of the Sufis correct or not?

Sufism is the practice of applying knowledge; this is how Al-Imam Al-Sha'rani defined it. If some among them have deviations in creed, it is not permissible to generalize this to all Sufis, as there are those among them who are acknowledged by all scholars for their knowledge and virtue. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions  There is no sin in working for the bank that declares compliance with the rulings of Sharia, in addition to adhering to the rulings of the supervising Sharia committee in the bank itself. This is provided that the committee consists of righteous, trustworthy, specialized scholars. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
