A Statement on the 10th Anniversary of Amman Bombings

 

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

At this time of every year, Jordanians mark the anniversary of the bombings that ripped through three hotels in Amman on Nov.9th, 2005, killing and wounding many innocent civilians. This series of coordinated bomb attacks was conducted by a terrorist group that harbors radical ideologies.

 

The General Iftaa` Department prays that Allah bestows His mercy on the martyrs, admits them into Heaven, and empowers their families with patience and solace. The Department calls upon Jordanians to be united and persistent against terrorist and extremist ideologies which don`t represent the tolerant values of Islam, and are weird to our society.

 

Moreover, the Department calls upon Jordanians to support the ceaseless efforts of the armed forces and the security departments in fighting terrorist groups in order to preserve our unity, security, and stability.

 

The Department prays that Allah The Almighty keeps Jordan peaceful and secure under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah the second, and wishes the same for all Muslim countries. And All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of Worlds.

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all if his family and companions.                                                                                                                                                                                                 Thorough studies in which woman's right to inherit according to law of distribution of estate indicates that there are more than one case by which women inherit the same as man and sometimes much more, or to shed the lights regarding the right to inherit while men who share the same family line with her don't have the right to inherit because the deceased has closer ties of kinship with her. In addition to four cases whereas woman inherits half share in comparison with man's share although they had the same degree of kinship with the deceased. What is the difference between Tahajjud prayer and night prayer, and do they have a particular Witr prayer other than that of Isha (evening prayer)?

Tahajjud and Qiyam-Al-Lail (night prayer) are two words for the same meaning which is offering voluntary prayer at night after sunset, but before dawn break. However, Tahajjud is offered after waking up; whereas, Qiyam-Al-Lail is permissible before sleeping, or after it. Therefore, every Tahajjud is a Qiyam, but not every Qiyam is a Tahajjud. Moreover, there is no specified Witr for both of them, but Witr after Isha is by itself the Witr of Qiyam, and it is a Sunnah to postpone it until after Qiyam if the worshiper thought that he was most probably going to wake up in order to offer it, but if he wasn`t sure of waking up, then he is at liberty to offer it before going to bed as was reported in the Prophet`s Hadith.

What is the Islamic ruling on adoption, and what is the legal window through which a person can be kind to an orphan girl, attend to her needs and raise her as his own?

Kindness to an orphan entails a great reward from Allah, but adoption is prohibited and invalid. Therefore, it is permissible for the aforementioned person (for example) to make his brother`s wife breastfeed that girl so that he becomes her uncle by suckling provided that he informs her that she isn`t his biological daughter.
