Resolution No.(59): “Ruling on Planting Trees in Graveyards“

Date: 9/11/1422 AH corresponding to 23/1/2002 AD.

 

Question:

What is the ruling of Islamic Sharia on planting trees in graveyards?

Answer: All success is due to Allah.

According to Islamic Sharia, planting trees in graveyards is permissible since it is included within the general meaning of the Sharia maxim which states that, in principle, things are permissible so long as there is no provision from the Quran and the Sunnah proving otherwise, and there is no evidence that forbids such an act. However, trees shouldn`t be planted directly above the graves, rather, they should be planted in the corridors and places where there are no graves. This is in order for their roots not to harm the dead because doing so is forbidden as stated in the Prophet`s Hadith {what means}: "Breaking a deceased body’s bones is exactly like breaking them when he is alive.” {Related by Abu Dawud in accordance with the conditions of Muslim}. When the buyer purchased the car, it became their property, and the price became their responsibility. The bank acts as the seller's agent for receiving the payment. Therefore, there is no sin on the second buyer, God willing, as long as the bank does not impose an increase in the amount if a payment is delayed. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

A woman is asking for divorce although she is still breastfeeding. What is the Islamic ruling on this?

It unlawful for a woman to seek divorce without a valid Sharia excuse. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Are dream interpretation books accurate?

Dream interpretation books are unreliable because they are merely expectations, not rulings of Sharia. However, if one sees a dream which one does not like, one should spit on one's left side and seek the refuge of Allah from the satan; it will not do one any harm, and one should not disclose it to anyone. If one sees a good vision, one should feel pleased but should not disclose it to anyone but whom one loves. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

I suffer from excessive gas, especially when I pray, and I redo my ablution more than seven times. I have obsessive thoughts about this matter, even though I went to a doctor and was given medication that did not help. What should I do?
 

If the release of gas stops at certain times between prayers, you should wait for that time, perform ablution, and pray. However, if it is continuous, you should perform ablution after the prayer time begins and pray, and the release of gas during the prayer is excused. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
