Resolution No.(59): “Ruling on Planting Trees in Graveyards“

Date: 9/11/1422 AH corresponding to 23/1/2002 AD.

 

Question:

What is the ruling of Islamic Sharia on planting trees in graveyards?

Answer: All success is due to Allah.

According to Islamic Sharia, planting trees in graveyards is permissible since it is included within the general meaning of the Sharia maxim which states that, in principle, things are permissible so long as there is no provision from the Quran and the Sunnah proving otherwise, and there is no evidence that forbids such an act. However, trees shouldn`t be planted directly above the graves, rather, they should be planted in the corridors and places where there are no graves. This is in order for their roots not to harm the dead because doing so is forbidden as stated in the Prophet`s Hadith {what means}: "Breaking a deceased body’s bones is exactly like breaking them when he is alive.” {Related by Abu Dawud in accordance with the conditions of Muslim}. Is it permissible for someone to make a supplication to Allah to marry an already married, or an engaged woman?

No, it isn`t, and the person who does so is sinful before Allah, The Almighty.

I prayed all the obligatory prayers in congregation, but after finishing the `Isha prayer, I remembered that I had forgotten to pray Dhuhr. What should I do, and is my prayer invalid?

Your prayers are valid, but you must make up the Dhuhr prayer as soon as you remember it, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Whoever forgets a prayer must pray it as soon as they remember it; there is no expiation for it except this." [Muslim]. And Allah knows best

What is the ruling on paying a sum of money to Saudi citizen in return of having Saudi residence? It is worth noting that this transation is labelled as a "worker's visa" but I am not going to work as such only to facilitate having it?

Allah The Almighty Says (What means): "O you who have believed, fear Allah and be with the truthful" [At-Tawbah/119]. False statements contradict truthfulness, and it is not permissible to write them. A Muslim has the right to live in any Islamic country, and those who prevent him will be accountable before Allah about their action and the justification for the prohibition. And Allah Knows Best.

A person vowed to slaughter a sacrificial animal. Is he permitted to eat from it?

If the vowed sacrificial animal was for the sake of Allah, and the one who vowed didn't specify then its meat should be distributed only among the poor and needy similar to distributing Zakah of Al-Fiter so neither him nor his dependents permitted to eat from; however if his vow was to made a banquet and invititing his relatives and others; then he must bring up as much as he can from its meat for them. In addition, he is permitted to eat from it in a reasonable basis. And Allah Knows Best.
