Question :

I was offered a job contract with a better salary. In order to get it , I had to undergo some medical examinations. However, being inflicted with hepatitis it was a hindrance for getting that job, therefore, someone offered me a clean medical report . What is the ruling of Sharia in this regard?

The Answer :

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and may His blessings and peace .be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all of his family and companions Allah, the Almighty commanded to be truthful, since He said(what means):" O ye who believe! Fear God and be with those who are true (in word and deed). [At-Tawbeh/119]. In order to be truthful, you(asker) should give an original medical report showing your accurate case . Moreover, as for giving a false medical examination, it is considered an act of cheating, falsifying which Allah has forbidden. It was narrated after the Prophet (what means):" We were in the company of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) that he observed: Should I not inform you about the most grievous of the grave sins? (The Holy Prophet) repeated it three times, and then said: Associating anyone with Allah, disobedience to parents, false testimony or false utterance. The Prophet was reclining, then he sat up, and he repeated it so many times that we wished that he should become silent. [ Albukhari]. As regards the aforementioned person, what he did is considered falsification and rancor, and you shouldn't be a part of it, since Allah, the Almighty, said(what means):" Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah. for Allah is strict in punishment." [Al-Ma'idah/2]. Therefore, we advise you to adhere to the truth, since Allah will grant you a greater reward for this, because anyone who leaves an impermissible act for the sake of Allah, will be rewarded with something much better. And Allah knows best.
