General Iftaa` Department Wins King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency

The General Iftaa` Department won King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency (First position), as first-time participant, on Wednesday, fifth of Sept. 2018.

Dr Mufti Mohammad Al-Zou`bihas also won the King`s Award for theLeading Employee Category. 

Winners for the cycle 2017/2018 were announced during the ceremony heldunder the patronage of His majesty King Abdullah IIat the Royal Cultural Centre.

The Grand Mufti, Dr Mohammad Al-Khalayleh said that the Award came because of the tremendous effortsmade by the Muftis and other staff members. He added that it manifests the spirit of teamwork, which is encouraged by Sharia.

On its part, the Iftaa` Dept. has exerted ceaseless efforts in developing its services and clarifying the rulings of Sharia which reflect the bright image of Islam in line with the themes of the Amman Message and the sound thought of the Hashemite leadershipto help counter extremist views in our society.

It is incumbent that a valid marriage contract be concluded in the presence of a guardian and two trustful witnesses, and it should be registered in the court to protect the rights of the wife. Actually, a valid marriage contract is what differentiates between sound marriage and fornication.

What is the stance of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah regarding the historical figure known as 'the Sufyani,' who some say will appear at the end of times? And what is the stance of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah regarding the group that killed Al-Husayn ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them), particularly those who directly committed the killing, severed his head, and killed members of his family?

Most of the narrations about the signs of the Hour concerning the Sufyani, who is said to appear before the Mahdi, indicate that he is the leader of the army that will invade the Kaaba, and Allah will cause the earth to swallow them. We disassociate ourselves before Allah from those who killed Al-Husayn Ibn Ali (may Allah be pleased with them), supported his killing, or encouraged it, whether openly or secretly. However, if your work is merely documenting the reality, then I hope there is no sin upon you. The the pious predecessors (Salaf) used to take the tithe from the traders of the People of the Book, even if it included alcohol, after knowing the value of their goods. Is it permissible to combine Zuhr and Asr prayers for being occupied with a wedding ceremony?

No, it isn`t permissible to combine Zuhr and Asr, or Maghrib and Isha because of being busy with a wedding since the exemption for combining prayers is based on lawful excuses, and this isn`t one of them. And Allah Knows Best.
