Subject : Ruling on Property Evacuation Allowance

Question :

I have several warehouses. I plan to rent them and take a certain sum as evacuation allowance. What is the ruling of Sharia on this?



The Answer :

Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

 

Upon the initiation of the rent contract, if the property owner asks for a certain sum as evacuation allowance, then this is permissible. However, this is provided that this amount is considered as rental allowance for the first month. As for the rest of the months, the rent should be paid as agreed. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
