All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.
The fundamental principle in writing the Quran is to do so with clear letters and in the standard script, to avoid any hindrance to the reader. However, there is no sin in writing some Quranic verses - outside of the written copy of the Quran (Mus-haf) - in a way that the letters intertwine, provided that they can still be read and do not result in a change to the script away from the Ottoman script. This should be done while ensuring that the Quran is treated with respect, as it is permissible to write Quranic verses in a decorative script.
Imam Suleiman al-Jamal, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: "Al-Shahab Al-Ramli was asked: "Is it forbidden to write the Noble Quran with Indian script or other non-Arabic scripts?" He replied: "It is not forbidden, because it still conveys the words of the Noble Quran and does not change its meaning. This is unlike translating it into a language other than Arabic, as that involves a change. In Al-Suyutis book [AL-Itqan] he asks: "Is it forbidden to write it with a non-Arabic script?" Al-Zarkashi responded: "I have not seen any scholar discuss this, and it is possible that it is permissible, as it may be beautiful to those who read it. However, the more likely opinion is that it is prohibited. This is the preferred opinion." Ibn Al-Qasim Al-Mahli stated: "It is permissible to write it, but not to recite it, in a non-Arabic language. And the written text has the same ruling as the Quran in terms of carrying it and touching it. " [Fotohat Al-Wahaab, Vol.1/P.76].
In conclusion, it is permissible to write Quranic verses in decorative script, as long as it remains legible and does not alter or desecrate the text. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
