Question :
Does the fluid that comes out of a woman when she thinks about sexual intercourse require Ghusl or it suffices that she makes ablution?
The Answer :
All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.
What comes out of a woman may be maniy, madhiy or regular discharge, which is called “moisture”. Each of these has its own characteristics and rulings that apply to it.
With regard to maniy:
It is thin and yellow. It may be white for some women. There is pleasure when it is emitted, and desire ceases immediately after it is emitted. Maniy is taahir (pure) and it is not essential to wash it from one’s clothes, but one must doghusl after it is emitted.
With regard to madhiy:
It is white and thin, and is emitted when feeling desire either when thinking or otherwise, but no pleasure is felt when it is emitted, and desire does not cease when it is emitted.Madhiy is najis (impure) and must be washed off if it gets onto the body. As for clothes, if madhiy gets onto them it is sufficient to purify them by sprinkling them with water. The emission of madhiy invalidates wudoo’ but it is not essential to do ghusl after it is emitted.
Therefore, if you (Questioner) don`t know which type you have discharged, then you may make Ghusl(Ritual bath) or not. Please refer to the Shafie book {Al-Bahjah Al-wardiyah, 2/142}.
However, if it was "moisture" or the regular vaginal discharges, then we have already explained that in Fatwa No(627). And Allah knows best.
