All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of The Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.
It is permissible that the husband allows his wife to pay Zakat-ul-Fitr for herself from her own wealth instead of him paying it for her, and the same applies to all financial acts of devotion. In other words, it is permissible to pay on behalf of whomever it is due on, but with their permission. "
If the wife paid Zakat-ul-fitr for herself from her own wealth without her husband`s permission although he is wealthy, there are two cases:……….First, even if his wife or a member of his family paid Zakat-ul-Fitr for themselves and from their own wealth with his (the one on whom it is due) permission, then it avails them, and this is the view of all Muslim scholars. Second, even if one man said to another: pay Zakat-ul-Fitr on my behalf and he did, it avails him, and this is similar to saying to someone: pay off my debt!" {Rawdat At-Talibeen, 2/295}. And Allah knows best.
