All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds, and may His peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions. According to Prophetic narrations.
It is permissible to repeat the call of Athan upon hearing it and to make supplications including the Iqamaa's one(O Allah, Lord of this perfect call………) since both(Athaan and Iqaama) are considered call to prayer. In this regard,it is narrated that Jabir said: "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who says upon hearing the Adhan: 'Allahumma Rabba hadhihid-da'wati-ttammati, was-salatil-qa'imati, ati Muhammadanil-wasilata wal-fadhilata, wab'athu maqaman mahmuda nilladhi wa 'adtahu [O Allah, Rubb of this perfect call (Da'wah) and of the established prayer (As-Salat), grant Muhammad the Wasilah and superiority, and raise him up to a praiseworthy position which You have promised him]', it becomes incumbent upon me to intercede for him on the Day of Resurrection.""{Related by Bukhari}.
Besides, the Prophet (PBUH) said: " When you hear the mu’adhdhin repeat what he says, then invoke a blessing on me, for everyone who invokes one blessing on me will receive ten blessings from God. Then ask God to give me the wasila, which is a rank in paradise fitting for only one of God’s servants, and I hope that I may be the one. If anyone asks that I be given the wasila, he will be assured of my intercession."{related by Muslim}.
Moreover, Muslim scholars are of the view that it is recommended to answer the Athaan and Iqaama call as soon as they are heard. Kindly refer to [Fatih Al-Qadeer/Hanafiee's book] In addition, it is stated: "The well-known view in our school, Shafiee's one, that it is recommended for whoever heared the call of Athan and Iqamaa to repeat their words consecutively upon hearing them ."{Moghni Al-Mohtaj/Shafi'ee's book}. In addition, "It is recommended for a person who hears the Iqaama to repeat its words after the Mo`athin."{Al-Moghni, a Hanbali book}.
In conclusion, it is recommended for the one who heard the call of Athaan and Iqaama to answer them, establish Iqamaa then to make supplications. And Allah knows best.
