Resolution No.(111): "Investing Profits of Arab Potash Company Deposit Staff's Fund at Jordan Export and Finance Bank and Jordan International insurance Co."

Date: 23/7/1427 AH, corresponding to 17/8/2006 AD.

 

The Board received the following question:
What is the ruling of Islamic Sharia regarding the profits yielding from operating the savings bank`s funds of the staff of the Jordan Potash Company at Jordan Export and Finance Bank and Jordan Insurance Company?
Answer: All success is due to Allah
The Board is of the view that the aforementioned profits are unlawful, for Allah The Almighty Says in the Noble Quran {what means}: “If ye do it not, Take notice of war from God and His Apostle: But if ye turn back, ye shall have your capital sums: Deal not unjustly, and ye shall not be dealt with unjustly.“ {Al-Baqarah/279}. Therefore, they should be disbursed in favor of the poor, the needy, and public interest. And Allah Knows Best.

Is it permissible for a woman to shake hands with her brother-in-law?

It is forbidden for the woman to shake hands with her brother-in-law because he isn`t a Mahram (unmarriageable) of hers.

This is impermissible, as it involves taking money without providing something of value in return according to Islamic law. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

I swear that I will leave the religion of Allah if I return to smoking" and then returned to smoking. What is the ruling?

Whoever conditions disbelief on something and intends to disbelieve if it happens, he becomes a disbeliever immediately. Therefore, you must pronounce the two testimonies of faith (Shahada) and reconcile with your wife if she is in her waiting period (Iddah). I wear braces because I had an accident. However, Iam afraid that I could die and be buried while wearing them because they are permanent installation. Is this forbidden? I also wear false teeth. Should I ask my children to pull them out after I die?

If the braces are worn to get teeth back to normal, then there is no sin in that and there is also no harm in wearing false teeth. Moreover, you don`t have to have them removed after your passing away as this undermines the dignity of the dead. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
