Statement on Banning Forbidden Festivals

 

All perfect praise is due to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad, his family and noble companions.

 

Recently, there has been calls by some media outlets for holding festivals with unlawful names and immoral acts, such as the so called "Wine Festival." 

 

We, Iftaa` Department, stress that calling for, holding and taking part in such festivals violates the teachings of Islam, negates authentic values of Islam and the customs and traditions of this Hashemite country of ours.

 

We, Iftaa` Department, call on all citizens to boycott these festivals because they corrupt country and people. We also call on the concerned authorities to ban holding such festivals to protect our true religion and the safety of our society.

 

We also highly appreciate the statement issued by the Ministry of Interior banning such festivals and holding their organizers accountable before the law.

 

We pray that Allah protects our country against sins, tests and trials, be they concealed or revealed. And all perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.

It is permissible to use such cards in accordance with the following conditions : 1- The issuing body does not stipulate collecting interest upon late payments. 2- The merchant does not increase the price of the goods due to an increase in the commission collected from him by the card issuer.3- The purchased item(s) should not be gold , silver or currency in case the card is not covered. And Allah Knows Best.

What should a woman who is in a state of menstruation, or confinement do if she became ritually pure during the day of Ramadhaan ?

If she became pure during the day time of Ramadhaan, it is desirable for her to fast the rest of that day, and to make up for it along with the days that she had missed due to menstruation.

What is the ruling on singing and listening to it while accompanied and unaccompanied by musical instruments?

Singing and listening to it unaccompanied by musical instruments is permissible as long as it isn`t practiced as a profession and is done by a man to other men, or a woman to other women with maintaining that no temptations are involved. The words of the song should be Islamic, and if temptation was likely to happen, then the singing becomes definitely forbidden. Temptation here means: whatever leads to committing a sin. In Islamic Sharia, singing accompanied by musical instruments such as the lute and the like is forbidden, and listening to it as well. The reason behind that is the fact that the musical instrument itself is forbidden. However, striking the tambourine and singing Islamic songs are permissible in weddings, circumcisions and the like.

Who is “the poor” that is entitled to receive Zakah(obligatory charity)?

The poor is the one who has neither money nor a source of living, or has either of them, but it isn`t sufficient such as being in need for a hundred JDs, and having an income of forty JDs only.
