All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

Allah The Almighty Says (What means): "We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption)." [Al-Hijr/9]. This verse gives hope for the future of the Muslim nation because Allah has promised to preserve Islam and Muslims until the Day of Resurrection. The Message is the Quran, the Sunna, and Islam as a whole. Thus, Islam can`t be preserved save with the preservation of the nation of Islam, and events recorded in history are proof of this.

During the reign of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), the disbelievers and their allies from among the Jews of Medina came on the Muslims from above and from below until their eyes became dim and their hearts gaped up to the throats, and imagined various (vain) thoughts about God!. However, this soon ended and the Muslims pursued the disbelievers in their own homes until Islam spread throughout the Arabian Peninsula and the surrounding areas, its light reached the east and the west, and its mercy and justice were showered upon those who embraced it.

Centuries later, Muslims were divided for personal gains, and thus became an easy prey to their enemy, because the latter is like the disease that preys only on the weak body as it fails to attack the strong one. This is exactly what happened to the Muslims when the Tartar came on them from the east and the crusaders from the west. Those harsh days witnessed the destruction of Baghdad, the Capital of the Islamic Caliphate, and thousands of valuable books. Later, Allah sent a man from among the ordinary Muslims, and he was able to repel the aggressors and led to their defeat at the hands of the Mujahedeen. This man managed to defeat them in the battlefield and on the intellectual level as well. However, some of their leaders accepted Islam and fought along with their soldiers in the way of Allah, and historians know traces of their civilization.

As for the crusaders, they remained in our country for two hundred years during which they occupied Al-Aqsa Mosque for ninety years. Not only this, but one of them was stupid enough to think about destroying the grave of the Prophet (PBUH), but he only set himself ablaze.

Again, a righteous man from among the Muslim public managed to push the crusaders away, the Muslim nation returned to fighting in the cause of Allah conquering many countries, and spreading the word of Allah, which reflects monotheism, justice, and equality.

Last century, Muslims experienced a new crisis and are still suffering the consequences. However, it started deescalating by the Islamic awakening, which spread from the east to the west giving glad tidings to a brighter future.

This rotation between good and evil experienced by the Muslim nation is a promise made by Allah to us. He The Almighty Says (What means): "God will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now, until He separates what is evil from what is good nor will He disclose to you the secrets of the Unseen. But He chooses of His Apostles (For the purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in God. And His apostles: And if ye believe and do right, ye have a reward without measure." [Al-Imran/179]. He also Said (What means): "If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that God may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And God loveth not those that do wrong." [Al-Imran/140].

Indeed, the periods in which good prevailed are greatly longer than those of trials since Muslims managed to build their own civilization, which couldn`t be achieved save at an age of stability, power, and triumph.

The wisdom behind this rotation between good and evil is showing the true colors of every person to distinguish the believer from the non-believer; the weak from the strong, and the foe from the friend.

Therefore, the Prophet commented on the difficult conditions the Muslim nation was passing through by saying: "O worshippers of Allah! Hold fast." {Transmitted by Tirmithi, Hadith No.2406}. We ask Allah to keep us firm on His religion.

The most serious matters in this crisis are the following three:

First: Some foes of Islam are actually Muslims, and thus doomed themselves to perish with those who perished.

Second: Some of those who dare to speak on behalf of Islam don`t believe in it since we have seen disbelievers and ignorant individuals delivering Fatwas under the name of Islam although Islam is innocent of them. This isn`t surprising since this is the method of the cowards pretending to be courageous.

Third: Muslims are divided to the extent that Jerusalem is under occupation and they are doing nothing about it despite its religious status in their hearts; taking into consideration that it is the third of the two holy harams, the journey of Isra and M`iraj, and the multiplication of rewards for praying there.

This quick review for the history of our nation aims to stress that Islam preserves and unites Muslims, the Quran preserves us, and we preserve it. This means that we should embrace all Islamic sciences, the Quran and its houses. Actually, Almighty Allah has honored us with the Quran, so we must protect this honor. He The Almighty Said (What means): "The (Qur’an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account." [Al-Zukhruf/44]. What an honor to the Prophet (PBUH) and his people! but aren`t we going to be held to account before Allah as to what we have failed to do in this regard?.

One feels frightened when he/she hears the verse: "If ye turn back (from the Path), He will substitute in your stead another people; then they would not be like you!" [Mohammad/38]. We ask Allah not to substitute in our stead another people, to give us assistance, and keep us firm on His religion.

The attempt to destroy, twist, and distort the beautiful image of Islam is doomed to failure. This is because Allah Said (What means): " The Unbelievers spend their wealth to hinder (man) from the path of God, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end they will have (only) regrets and sighs; at length they will be overcome: and the Unbelievers will be gathered together to Hell;-" [Al-Anfal/36]. He The Almighty also Said (What means): "Their intention is to extinguish God’s Light (by blowing) with their mouths: But God will complete (the revelation of) His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it). It is He Who has sent His Apostle with Guidance and the Religion of Truth, that he may proclaim it over all religion, even though the Pagans may detest (it)." [Al-Saff/8-9]. Their intention is to extinguish Allah`s Light but no way! For Allah has promised to preserve His religion and His Promise is certain and unbreakable.

The Muslim nation is promised with many things yet to come since Allah The Almighty Says (What means): " Before this We wrote in the Psalms, after the Message (given to Moses): My servants the righteous, shall inherit the earth." [Al-Anbiyaa`/105]. Indeed, the scholars of Quranic exegesis have spoken the truth: it is the land of this life and that of heaven, and the righteous are the ones who don`t differentiate between any of the Messengers of Allah. Indeed, they are the nation of Mohammad: they ruled with justice, pardoned while having the upper hand, abandoned worldly glitter, and prayed that Allah blesses them with Jannah.

In addition, in many sound narrations the Messenger of Allah promised that Islam will reach the end of the globe.

However, this doesn`t mean that we sit idly by; rather, we must play a role in the revival of the Islamic awakening taking the initiative ourselves along with our household members to be saved from a Fire whose fuel is men and stones since Allah Said (What means): "O ye who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from God, but do (precisely) what they are commanded." [At-Tahrim,/6]. This is in addition to strengthening the unity of the Muslim nation through good word and leave no stone unturned to do that, which brings it, closer to Allah.

Islam is a trust placed with us, we preserve it and it preserves us. Allah The Exalted Said (What means): "The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honorable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of stories (and events). And God hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not." [Yousef/21]. Indeed, Allah Has Spoken the truth.

Summarized Fatawaa

I married a man and had two children; however, we got separated four years ago. In addition, my husband`s brother, paternal uncle of my children, has been providing for them ever since. In fact, he is an honest, well-behaved man. Is it permissible that we get married although his brother (My ex-husband) is still alive?

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of The Worlds. May His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.
It is temporarily prohibited for a woman to marry her stepbrother. Therefore, once she receives Talaq Ba`in (Irrevocable divorce), she is allowed to marry her stepbrother, even if his brother (First husband) is still alive. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Is it permissible for a woman who is in her confinement to fast upon seeing blood signs that are neither black, nor red ?

Brownish, reddish, and yellowish discharges are all considered confinement until there is no colored discharge which marks the end of confinement. Moreover, the aforesaid woman is prohibited from fasting until she attains ritual purity. And Allah Knows Best.

What is the ruling of Sharia on a Muslim woman who committed Zina with a Christian and became pregnant as a result?

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.
Abortion is forbidden in Islam as it entails taking the life of a soul unjustly. Rather, it is one of the major sins; however, it is permissible only when there is well-established danger on the mother`s life; in which situation scholars gave priority to her life over that of the foetus, since this is, according to Sharia: "The lesser of two evils". In case a Muslim woman committed Zina (Adultery) with a Christian and got pregnant, if this did happen, then this question should be presented to the Iftaa` Committee with the presence of the questioner herself. She could also ask a reliable scholar face to face or via phone. If she gives birth to the baby, then he/she is a Muslim and takes the name of his mother; not the name of the man who was a reason for its conception. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.

Is a person who is in a state of Janabah (major ritual impurity due to having a marital intercourse, ejaculation, menstruation, and post-delivery impurities) sinful if he/she goes about his/her daily life activities in that state i.e. without making Ghusl (ritual bath ) ?

It goes without saying that a Muslim should always be in a state of ritual purity so as to be able to perform prayers and recite Quran. It is from Sunnah (Prophetic tradition) that a Muslim hastens to make Ghusl from Janabah, but he/she is not sinful in case he/she delayed that provided that he/she doesn`t miss prayers. However, it is permissible for him/her to go about their daily activities while in a state of Janabah, but had better bathe in order not to miss any prayer.
