Question :

How can I tell authentic Hadiths searched for through Google and other search engines? In fact, I have contacted the Iftaa` Department and they told me to search for the first segment of a Hadith via the internet and it will appear instantly along with its grade in terms of authenticity and weakness. However, when I did this, I found the Hadith but the grade wasn`t given. Could you kindly indicate the grade of the following Hadith: "The Messenger of God, May God`s prayer and peace be upon him and his family, said: "Gabriel came to me while I was praying behind the maqam, and when I finished praying, I called to God Almighty and said, "My beloved, teach me something for my nation. Gabriel said: "Whoever fasts the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth of every month, then they supplicate to God with this supplication…………..?

The Answer :

All perfect praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

The comments of the scholars of Hadith can be obtained by navigating many website. For example:

1- [AD-Durar As-Sunniah]. This site conveys the comments of the eminent scholars of Hadith (Previous and contemporary). It also has a special section that shows the Hadiths spread on the internet.

2- [Moltaka Ahl Al-Hadith]. This site contains scientific discussions about Hadiths and the famous Hadiths spread amongst the people.

3- We recommend searching the specialized books of the experts in this field. For example, [Al-Maqasid Al-Hasanah Fi Al-Ahadeeth] [Al-Moshtaharah by Al-Sakhawi and Khashef Al-Kafaa`] by Al-Ajlouni. These books can be found in many websites.

In any case, one must seek the help of the scholars of Hadith since the above sites and books mention overall judgments. They also use specialized terminology unfamiliar to the average people. Consequently, the latter misunderstand these terminology and fail to decide on the grade of a certain Hadith although they tend to simplify things for the ordinary reader.

However, the Hadith referred to in the above question is fabricated and isn`t mentioned in the books of Hadiths and it is mentioned in the website [Ad-Durar Assuniah].

In conclusion, we reiterate that reference to the above sites and books doesn`t mean approving of all their content. And Allah The Almighty Knows Best.
